I started learning Chinese traditional painting when I was in middle school. At that time, I was confused about the way ancient Chinese painters painted the mountains, trees and stones in their works. The way they painted them are completely different from that of the western traditional painters, since I learnt about western traditional paintings before I was introduced to paintings from my own culture. However, both of the paintings look realistic to me. One thing that Chinese traditional paintings appeal to me is that when you look close to a tree, a stone or a mountain in a painting, they are abstract. But when you stand away from the piece, it begins to make sense to you. In this video, I aim to use water and different parts of the human body to imitate a Chinese traditional painting.

This is an experimental video that I aim to paint a Chinese traditional painting in a new way---using a video piece. In an ancient Chinese book, called the Book of Changes, it states that human beings and nature is an entity that interacts mutually. Therefore, I want to use human body parts as different elements of a Chinese traditional landscape painting.
